Where did the name RASCBall come from?

The RASC in RASCBall is an acronym for Revolution in Athletic Street Competition.

Where is RASCBall played?

Currently play takes place at the South roller hockey rink on the campus of The Ohio State University. The court is located on 11th ave, between Neil ave and High street.

Who are the people behind RASCBall?

RASCBALL was initially developed by a handful of friends from Columbus, Ohio on a hot and humid afternoon in July of 2001. The original athletes continue to steadily evolve RASCBall to prosperity and mass exposure. Led by Mike Crosky, Tim Beem and Rich Gubsch RASCBall will continue to grow and progress into the future.

What type of object is used to play RASCBall?

When play originally began a tennis ball was used. Since then modifications have been made and the current object used is a size 1 soccer ball.

What do you mean when you say "Full contact rules apply"?

For adults and competitive athletes, full contact rules similar to those of hockey or lacrosse are applied during play (ie. body checking and hand checking). Players are permitted to pull or hit the ball free from an opponents hand. Forceful physical contact is allowed (ie: hockey style checking and man to man picks) BUT ONLY if the contact pertains to the flow of the game. It is NOT permitted to blantanly use force on someone who is not directly engaged in the play, such as tackling, elbowing or tripping.
For youth and more casual players the physical play is tamed down considerably.

How much does it cost to play RASCBall?

Not a cent!! RASCBall is absolutely FREE.

What equipment do I need to bring in order to participate?

Padding is completely optional. However some athletes do choose to wear knee and/or elbow pads. Netminders wear a various mix of soccer goalie and baseball catcher equipment. All we ask you to bring is yourself and a pair of tennis shoes.
