Time

  • Two 35 minute halves
  • 30 second shot clock
  • The clock is continuous (excluding the 2MR's during the final two minutes of each period)
  • Each team is issued 1 time out per period
  • Two Minute Rules (2MR)- During the final two minutes of each period the clock will stop when a goal is scored, the ball caroms out-of-bounds, a penalty occurs, a team calls timeout, for injuries or anytime the referee deems it necessary. Additionally, the shot clock will countdown from 20 seconds.

Overtime - If at the end of regulation the teams are deadlocked a full 5 minute overtime will take place. There are no ties in RASCBall, however overtime is NOT sudden death. If the score is still tied after the 5 minute extra session, the teams will battle in a RASCBall shootout to determine the winner. Time is continuous, except during the final minute of the period, in which the standard "2MR's" apply.

RASCBall Shootout - Using a 3 Round format: A player from each team lines up diagonally from one another on opposite corners of the playing floor. The referee spots the ball in the center circle and signals the players to begin play. When the signal is given, both players have 15 seconds to gain possession of the ball and attempt a shot on the gaol. The player who deos not attain possession of the ball may try to steal the ball in order to obtain possession or play defense to prevent or block a shot on net. Players may attempt to score gaols using the standard allotted poin increments from regulation. Goals are still worth 1, 2, and 4 points.

If a penalty occurs the non-offending team is awarded a "free shot" which is one v. one versus the netminder. The shooting team's player starts with possession at the center circle and has 10 seconds to attempt one shot on goal.
