Terminology

Positions

Netminder - Player designated to prevent opposing team from scoring; can use any part of body to block shot.

Guards - Defensive minded players for each team, whose primary task is to keep opposing offenders from scoring.

Wings - Offensive minded players on left and right side of offensive attack, whose primary task is to score and create goals for his team.

Anchor - Offensive minded players in the center of offensive attack, whose primary task is to create and score goals for his team.

Rover - Player roams the middle of the floor for a respective team, has strong offensive and defensive responsibilities.

RASCBall Slang

The Floor - Court in which play takes place.

Jump Off - All 10 floor players battle to gain offensive possession of a neutral ball. It is used to commence the start of play, and during any restarts that may occur throughout the duration of the game.

The Pack - The unit of players used in the Jump Off.

Goal Crease - The 16 X 13 foot box area in front of the opening of the goal; denotes the playing area of the netminder within which attacking players may roam free and may attempt to score goals, only if the attempted shot is a Boot or Header.

Boot - An attempted shot on goal from a kick.

Bonus Line - The designated line in which a goal can be scored by a shot thrown (2pts.) or booted(4pts.).

Header - A shot attempted on goal by use of the head (soccer style), worth 4 points.

Spot Foul - A free play awarded to a player for a foul committed by the opposition; the player passes or shoots from a dead start at the spot of the foul.
