RASCBall is an original sport that’s play consists of a unique blend of finesse and power, while combining elements from the world’s most acclaimed sports. RASCBall provides athletes from all over the sports spectrum an outlet to battle and participate in a genuine athletic competition. All while providing the everyday sports fan a fresh new wave of athletic competition.
The name RASCBall is an acronym stating what our sport is about and where it originated. R.A.S.C. stands for “Revolution in Athletic Street Competition“.
Revolution- Relays RASCBall is bringing a revolutionary experience to athletes.
Athletic- Conveys that RASCBall entails participants to be skilled and athletic.
Street- An ode to our roots. RASCBall originated in the middle of a street.
Competition- Enforces what RASCBall brings the athlete. The Objective RASCBall is a 6 on 6 competition played between two opposing teams, with 5 floor players and 1 “Netminder” per side. Multiple formations are used throughout the match. The 3-2 standard formation consists of 3 offensive minded players and 2 defensive minded players. The center offensive player is called the “Anchor" while the 2 offensive players on the left and right side of the Anchor are regarded as "The Splits." The 2 defensive minded are players regarded as "Guards." Instances, where a player roams the middle of the floor for a respective team, that player is known as the "Rover."
RASCBall commences with a "Jump Off". A jump off consists of both teams joining together at center floor, in what's known as "The Pack". The ball is launched in the direction of The Pack, in which all 10 floor players battle for offensive possession. Similar to that of a rugby scrum. | | | |
